A Violent Dose of Anything

Feature film, fiction, 96 min, directed by Gustavo Galvão (2013)

Pedro ran away from home, got on the road, and doesn't know where to go. Neither does Lucas, but the road is their stage. They are over 30 years old and are only wearing the clothes on their bodies. After meeting each other in a roadside diner in Minas Gerais, the two of them travel through the interior of Brazil in search of a violent dose of something.

By combining provocative content with tragicomic elements, the film exorcises the fears and trepidation of a generation that indulges in individualism as if this would ease its lack of prospects and insecurity. Along the way, the search for identity is confused with the yearning to find a reason for living.
